PO1.14: Successful Outreach DME Program in Puerto Rico

Providing durable medical equipment (DME), including manual and power wheelchairs with custom seating, can be challenging in any geographical area. Providing DME in an outreach setting presents additional challenges, particularly in follow-up care. In 2007, Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia, in conjunction with a national DME supplier, established, and has since maintained a DME outreach clinic to better service the underfunded children of Puerto Rico.
